My name is Jason Bisnoff and I am a writer, reporter and multimedia journalist. In the past decade I have done both newsgathering and storytelling across numerous platforms. While primarily working in text-based journalism I have reported in numerous mediums including but not limited to video, audio, data visualization and other multimedia.

As a writer first and foremost, I have written stories of varying lengths and subject matter including sports, music, the arts, business, local news and profiles, Among my numerous clips I have written: feature and business stories for Maxim Magazine; entertainment and arts coverage for the New York Daily News; longform and trend pieces for Metroland Alternative Newsweekly; opinion and editorial for the Albany Times-Union; first-person narrative for 219 Magazine; a regular column for The Hockey Writers; beat reporting and breaking news for DNAinfo; profiles and hyperlocal news for Fort Greene Focus; live coverage and criticism for Hip-Hop DX; international and historical reporting for Florence Magazine; localized coverage for the Daily Voice; and specialized in the automotive industry for the Daily News Autos.

Outside of the written word I have worked on podcasts and audio segments, contributed photography to published work, edited a team of writers, programmed data visualization, been both behind and on-camera for video pieces and used various cutting edge forms of video storytelling.

My interests are far ranging and include but are not limited to the four major american sports leagues, hip-hop culture, music both past and contemporary, television, film, travel and how business intersects with daily life.

On this site you can find the full breadth of my work dating back to my decision to pursue journalism in my freshman year as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Albany. My original foray into journalism came as an effort to sidestep paying for concerts and live sports. I am pleasantly surprised that 10 years later I have attended the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and Paris-Sorbonne University, worked for the International New York Times in Paris and New York Daily News in the Big Apple as well as writing about everything from pastors in the inner city to barber shops in college towns all with the vigor that accompanies any untold story I encounter.

Enjoy my work and feel free to get in touch.
